2009 Season - Week 13

Owners Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame 2009 owners vote was so close it came down to the spin of a coin. Ron couldn’t decide between Johnnie and Marcus and so spun a coin. If it had come down one way we would have had a 7-7 tie but it didn’t and so it’s congratulations to Johnnie who joins his brother and Mr and Mrs Cooper in the Hall. Trading Day 2 – NFL Teams Breakdown The most popular NFL team in the BUMS is now Minnesota after 2 more Vikings (WR Sidney Rice & Kicker Ryan Longwell) were added to BUMS rosters on Trading Day 2 meaning the team from the Twin Cities now has 8 players on BUMS rosters. Arizona also added 2 (they now have 5 BUMS). The least popular on T2 were Denver who lost 2 players (WR Eddie Royal and Kicker Matt Prater) but they still have a healthy 5 players in the BUMS. Oakland lost their only BUM (WR Johnnie Lee Higgins) and join Cleveland as the only NFL teams without a BUM after the formerly BUMSless Rams had WR Donnie Avery selected. BUMS NFL All-Mafia Team It was great to see David Stamp at HQ a couple of Sundays ago. Also present was special guest (and 2–time runner-up in the hunt for the Papas Fritas Trophy) Paul Privitera, over from his home in Washington DC just to mock Johnnie and Stampy as his Bills beat Miami. As the closest BUM (in name) to a member of the mafia we announce the latest BUMS Silly Names Team, the All-Mafia team started by Johnnie, Marcus & Mark at Wembley in honour of Buccaneer safety Sabby ‘Pistols’ Piscitelli. The full team is attached. Next up the All-Girls team coached by June Jones. Redskins put Portis on IR Bad news for Daz as his second year franchise running back Clinton Portis has been put on IR, ruling him out for the rest of the season. Daz has until 11pm Thursday to replace him in order for his new player to play for him this week. Remember it is your responsibility to look after the health of your players. See www.nfl.com/transactions BUMS on Seats. We are at Johnnie’s on Friday from 6:30pm for Pittsburgh’s visit to Cleveland. It’s HQ from 6pm on Sunday for Cincinnati @ Minnesota followed by San Diego @ Dallas. The Sunday Night game is a huge NFC East game (Philadelphia @ NY Giants) and we’re at H’s from 6:30pm on Monday evening for that one. Call or email if you are coming as venue’s are subject to change and some hosts may be cooking.
